It is a sensation that is taking the world by storm, and never before has the 18-25 year old mostly male demographic been able to come together, and kill orcs, in such a graphically appealing way. I’m talking about online Role Playing Games, or MMORPG’s to those in the community. One of the newest, still in Beta in the US (but in the process of being released) is called Lunia and its advanced game play may just change the way video games are created and played.

At first it seemed like the little white box next to the TV was designed to make me feel bad about myself. At the end of each game a screen comes up with a line graph showing your progress from the previous games. My graph had the sadface downward slope, showing that my progress was in fact not progress at all, but a worsening failure over time.

If anyone in the outside world reads this please know that I am currently addicted to a video game called Command and Conquer 3. For some reason I am bomb at this game, and I win every time. I can’t seem to stop playing for more than an hour to eat and shower. With the advent of online multiplayer games, the number of people I can destroy while sitting in my PJ’s is uncountable to the point I can play all day long and never face the same two people.

I have played many a game like this, and have mastered the art of throwing (or in this case, kicking) virtual objects. This game reminds me of the classic Caveman Olympics, one of my favorites from the era.
