Just so you know, sometimes I fart. Farts happen to some people, and it is generally considered a natural body process by many scientists (just ask one). Sure, I know that I could reduce the amount and loudness, but I am not ashamed. I refused to eat beano, I refuse to stop eating beans/eggs/etc, and I refuse to squeeze when I feel one a-coming, just for your personal pleasure of watching me suffer from a rumble below. (more…)
I’m was never really a big fan on M.I.A. and her website gives me a headache (no to mention the mislabeled links). But, my tastes in music aside, you really have to respect someone as big as M.I.A. who still keeps it real. In her videos, instead of thugs, bitches and diamonds, she has street dancers, and real people, who don’t look like they are made of plastic. (more…)
Coming up this week are a few local acts you won’t want to miss. And hey, sitting in front of the computer all day gets old after a few years right? (more…)
First I want to say, as a little encouragement to those working in a freelance market, it is an extremely tough way to get business, and very competitive. Before I failed over and over again, I had no idea what I was doing, and it really showed when I had to face up against a professional seller. I would try to sound smart and end up using words the customer didn’t understand, while my competition smoothed talked their way into contract after contract. (more…)
Your goal, help your crazy jumping friend find his way to a little pink triangle teleportation device. To assist you in your journey, a powerful telekinesis that allows you to move blocks with the power of your mind. To oppose you, lots of spikes, and tricky jumps that take practice to master. (more…)
Wolf Parade announced a mid-summer tour to go along with their new album. The new album called At Mount Zoomer is set to come out in June, to be followed by the North American tour in July. Will the new record, which Wolf Parade claims to have work to create a new sound, finally pull the band out of The Arcade Fire’s shadow? (more…)
Based in Brooklyn, New York, Yeasayer rocks the Indie scene with crazy Bollywood inspired tunes. Check out this live performance of 2080, which I have had stuck in my head for the past week (its that damn catchy bass line).
Community Minor Roquel Goro, a 13 year old minor that does nothing but get into trouble, learned the hard way today that pulling out doesn’t work. Goro and his girlfriend of two weeks decided to take their relationship to the next level and plan a date for the local fair. Once they arrived, it happened, just like it has happened to many underage hooligans, and their lives were changed forever. (more…)
I usually try to not do it, but today I decided to write my ex-girlfriend a message on Myspace. I don’t really have feelings for her anymore, even though our breakup was a dramatic fireworks show, but every now and then I like to write and see how my life would have been had I not screwed things up. (more…)
Austin City Limits announced the 2008 lineup last night for their slightly more expensive ($170 for a three day pass) and still in the heat of September music festival. While it still may have the usual problems (dehydration and sandstorms) perhaps a little more money and thought went into the festival this year (and with this lineup it looks like it) The lineup looks amazing and includes some of our favorites like: (more…)
It is amazing the amount of meat that comes off a chicken. It is almost like they were created to feed an entire family. They are like large meatballs covered in feathers that roam the hillside. While we are waiting for the meat to fatten, they produce eggs to hold us over, and make breakfast so special. Not to mention cakes, breads, pancakes, panbreads, and all those lovely things that wouldn’t be possible without eggs (shh vegans, I don’t dig the fake eggs). (more…)
Much like the transformation from still images to motion pictures that changed the way we entertain ourselves, Flickr now offers not only image hosting, but video hosting as well. It is seen by many as a good move from parent company Yahoo, and will perhaps provide a little competition to the video giant YouTube and it’s parent company Google. (more…)
Tonight we are having a guy’s night out, and I was curious to see what the guys out there really enjoyed doing once they got a little freedom. Do you still practice the old ‘He Man Woman Hater,’ doctrine? Or have the whippings gone so deep your poker table chit chat has turned into a rumor mill filled with many displays of pussy man blabber about flowers? (more…)
Starting April 20th and running through till May 25th The Modern will be hosting exhibits by Kenhinde Wiley. Wiley is know for painting larger than life portraits that are done in classical western European style, but instead of valiant white dudes riding stallions, it is people from contemporary urban settings. They are featured riding great white horses into battle while classical patterns decorate the background. (more…)
Sometimes when something is done in an epic style, and done correctly, you end up with a truly amazing piece of cinema. Talk about epic, according to Wikipedia it took almost four years to complete Fully Fared, a skateboarding movie from Lakia Footwear, because of new additions to the team. To start the movie they picked a band known for their epic ballads, M83. Plus, they use plenty of slow mo and explosions for the added touch. (more…)
According to eye-witnesses on the scene the G-X-4800, massive water cooled gaming platform, that belongs to local gamer John Bo Jovia is no longer considered Jovia’s best friend after freezing during last battle of a 8 hour World of Warcraft raid. Jovia’s friends seemed overjoyed at the development because it promises more time with Jovia, but Jovia is devastated at the recent turn of events. (more…)
