Just seeing the trailer brought back a rush of memories from the book, and sent tingles up and down my spine. I remember talking about a movie based on Choke after Fight Club came out, and how this bad ass story teller would get to us in whole new ways. After a few years I had almost forgot how cool that would be, and then today I wake up and Brandon hits me in the face with this amazing trailer:

Everyone seems to have a problem with talking about how much they make. There are exceptions, but for the most part people tend to keep it to themselves. In fact, my place of work discourages you from discussing your earnings with your co-workers, which I believe has to do with the fact that they don’t pay anyone there a decent amount, and have had to step on a few toes in the process.

With 2.2 million servers employed in the many restaurants in the US according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the anonymous guy who started waiterrant.com could be any of them. Of course, you could read into it a bit and figure out he is in New York, but other than that, the only thing you will get from him is personal emotion and experience of working one of the hardest and physically demanding jobs out there.

Sigh, look at you. It always seems to come to this, another excuse, another reason just like all the others but in the end you are just putting off what is important to you. Why would you put so much effort into other things, and not your passion? Shouldn’t the passion come first, and things like sleep and food come second? Isn’t that what the American Dream is all about these days; working your ass off at whatever you love until it kills you?

I am so tired I float between sleeping and trying to get things done on my day off. Just in the past 4 days I have worked a total of 41 hours. Severely underpaid and unable to walk very well, I feel almost defeated. The only thing I have look forward to tomorrow is the fact that I am getting paid overtime, and my first check will be at least something to live off of for awhile.

Just the other day I found out that we owed the electric company for two months because our bill was lost in the mail. I couldn’t believe that all of the sudden I was behind $400 on my bills I had been working so hard to keep current.

Just so you know, sometimes I fart. Farts happen to some people, and it is generally considered a natural body process by many scientists (just ask one). Sure, I know that I could reduce the amount and loudness, but I am not ashamed. I refused to eat beano, I refuse to stop eating beans/eggs/etc, and I refuse to squeeze when I feel one a-coming, just for your personal pleasure of watching me suffer from a rumble below.

I’m was never really a big fan on M.I.A. and her website gives me a headache (no to mention the mislabeled links). But, my tastes in music aside, you really have to respect someone as big as M.I.A. who still keeps it real. In her videos, instead of thugs, bitches and diamonds, she has street dancers, and real people, who don’t look like they are made of plastic.
