Much like the transformation from still images to motion pictures that changed the way we entertain ourselves, Flickr now offers not only image hosting, but video hosting as well. It is seen by many as a good move from parent company Yahoo, and will perhaps provide a little competition to the video giant YouTube and it’s parent company Google.
Videos are treated the same way as Flickr photographs, but the service differs from YouTube in several ways. First, users can only upload 90 second clips in an attempt to limit copyright problems (beacause who wants to watch a movie in 650 parts). Second, the Flickr movie player has an easier to use slider bar that doesn’t hurt my computers brains.
And sadly, it requires a pro account unlike YouTube, but hey, most of us are using pro accounts anyways right?
