Help! I Can’t Stop Reading: http://waiterrant.net/
With 2.2 million servers employed in the many restaurants in the US according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the anonymous guy who started waiterrant.com could be any of them. Of course, you could read into it a bit and figure out he is in New York, but other than that, the only thing you will get from him is personal emotion and experience of working one of the hardest and physically demanding jobs out there.
Most of the action takes place in a upscale restaurant visited by patrons of all sorts, from snotty upper class to lovebirds without a clue, “The Waiter†always has a new story to tell about his adventures on the other end of your night on the town.
Not only is the author of the blog an amazing writer, who captures in-depth details in every story he tells, but he is a fantastic waiter with a strong grasp of how the restaurant business operates. His experience driving the service carts and juggling several tasks shows in his insightful stories.
And it is all free on his blog, updated about 6 times a month. There is also a book in the works, to be released in less than 50 days, and already available for preorder.
If you are a waiter, you will relate, and if you are a normal citizen enjoying the fruits of labor from many a tired server, you will laugh and enjoy the hell out of yourself. So someone please help me, I can’t stop reading waiterrant.net.
