Highlights and Innovation Hit Music Industry

With the advent of YouTube, the death of MTV and other “music video” type mediums are a sure bet. Now, instead of having to watch several horrible mainstream bull hockey videos, you can find only the best and exactly what you want to watch. All you really need is a friend to suggest something for you to check out, and that is where I come in.

Recently, I have found many new videos on the internet that amaze me. The music industry has really taken a turn for the worst, producing thousands of horrible albums, wasting countless CD’s that I could have used to make road trip mixes, and forcing barf inducing crap that we somehow end up watching, even though we vowel to never reach such a low level (watch any Paris Hilton video).

So now without further adu, I present some really cool music videos I have found that you must watch. I hope that these videos will give you a little different outlook on music. It’s not too late for the record companies. We may not have to resort to playing our own music after all.

Yea Yeah
The first video is by the band Matt and Kim for their song “YEA YEAH.” Its a fun and uplifting video featuring two happy unpretentious punk rockers from Brooklyn, New York. I will warn you though, it might make you hungry.

Work It Out
RJD2 comes to Denton every now and then, and even though his music is for a very select audience, his video for “Work it Out” is just amazing. Artist Bill Shannon, who has a hip defect, does amazing stunts even though he needs crutches. True inspiration for those of you who claim to have lead feet and can’t dance.

The Dan Deacon Video Levi, Brandon and Kate is In
This is just cool because if you look hard enough you can see me dancing, my hair all over the place. The show was so amazing, one of the best that I have been to in a long time, and I don’t think I will ever forget it.

Ashlee Simpson Screws up SNL
I think the Family Guy version of events tells the story so well, to end this exploration with a note a humor I give you Ashlee Simpson on SNL

If you have a video you think is better than these, please let me know by leaving a comment. I will feature it next time and make whatever band famous. Could be yours?
