Sometimes when something is done in an epic style, and done correctly, you end up with a truly amazing piece of cinema. Talk about epic, according to Wikipedia it took almost four years to complete Fully Fared, a skateboarding movie from Lakia Footwear, because of new additions to the team. To start the movie they picked a band known for their epic ballads, M83. Plus, they use plenty of slow mo and explosions for the added touch.
I have grown out of my CKY days and really haven’t watched many skateboarding videos since then, but this movie, directed with the help of Spike Johns, and featuring a great soundtrack with artists like The Arcade Fire, Calexico, David Bowie, and The Flaming Lips, looks like something great for a bedtime movie. Plus, just watch this amazing intro to the movie:
Notice all the names from Tony Hawk? Having flashbacks to the time you scored over a million points on one trick? (yeah me too).
It’s about time they started putting a little more artistic thought into movies like this, because the whole Jackass thing started a really bad trend, and its about time to move on.
