PC Easter, Sick Again When the Bunny Comes to Visit

by: Levi Blackman

When the Spring Bunny Attacks Your Soul

My sister had an Easter party one year when we used to live in a nice big house made to host large groups of people. We all rocked out to The Cure or something equivalent in her room, dancing in a big circle. Earlier that day I found myself face first in a basket of candy, and all the dancing mixed with chocolate didn’t set well with my stomach. I threw up in front of all her friends.

I tell that story a lot.

Spring Bunny Can Eat Poop

This year had a film of dejavu when I hear listening over the radio that somebody someplace wanted to change the “Easter Bunny” to the “Spring Bunny” so as to not upset anyone. My stomach started to bubble, and I felt sick.

Could they really think this will make the world any better of a place? Is the word “Easter” something that should be reserved for private Christian conversations only? Does anyone really get offended when they hear the word Easter?

I don’t get offended when I see or hear Easter. I don’t take the word as a personal attack against my religion and beliefs or lack of. It sounds like someone with no confidence thought the stupid thought that Easter signifies religion and offends all those who don’t celebrate thought they would make everyone feel a whole lot better. Somehow it made it through the maze of the media and it is big news.

“Let us change the Bunny for the betterment of mankind!”

Oh come on, the Bunny delivers eggs. What bunny delivers eggs other than the Easter Bunny?

The Cadbury Bunny? Great, brand recognition. My high school economic teacher was right.

All the chocolate, and the PC; my stomach can’t take such harsh treatment. Maybe if people looked a little more into what Easter should symbolize rather than the symbols of chocolate and shiny basket straw. I am going to go take a shit.
