Anorexic Modest Mouse Eplodes the Top of the Charts

Every month CricketSoda covers many topics and bring people to our site who are searching for many different things. These keywords, the words people search for to find or site, are really interesting and can really aid understanding the strong and weak points of CricketSoda.

Look and Find

The top ten keywords on CricketSoda count for 40% of the total traffic from search engines.

A search for (1)anorexic” brought 355 people to a photo of Brandon Brady posed to hit an Elmo doll. (see picture). This has been the most popular thing on CricketSoda for several months now, and has ended up on many websites. I am afraid it will forever be a part of CricketSoda.

People love Modest Mouse, and they came in droves to our new The Soda Files section. We featured Modest Mouse reviews, news, and lyrics, plus stirred up a lot of conversation within the CricketSoda group. A search for the second most popular keyword (2)ocean breaths salty lyrics” brought 92 people to our lyrics page for a song off Modest Mouse’s new album. (see page) Keyword (4)“modest mouse ocean breaths salty lyrics” brought in 29 visitors, and keyword (5) “the ocean breaths salty lyrics.” It is safe to say that most of the CricketSoda group loves their Modest Mouse. Even our editors have been caught using The Soda Files for lyrics in their other projects.

Not only do people want to read lyrics by Modest Mouse, but they also want to see pictures. CricketSoda was lucky to have a friend such as Josh Pipes who provided some cool unique photos (see page) that drew a constant flow of interested parties. A search for (3)modest mouse pictures” brought 57 people to CricketSoda.

Levi Blackman went to Fargo, North Dakota and brought back pictures of PGI 2004. After the pictures were posted (see page), people start to flow in. The keyword (6)pictures of explosions” brought 25 visits this month, and many others from months before.

When ZolaOnAOL was first discovered on CricketSoda, we had massive amounts of fun trying to fuck around with the little robot, trying to get it to say funny things and such. We posted all of our text messages and the keyword (7)zolaonaol” has brought 22 people to CricketSoda.

I hope that most of the 19 people who found CricketSoda by searching for (8)“junkie” are themselves anti-junkie. We here at CricketSoda hate junkies. Not a single person on staff has anything good to say about junkies. They do have a long list of reasons why they hate them, stories of being ripped off by them many times before, and the overall feeling is that all junkies should die. (see page)

Following in the footsteps of Modest Mouse, Radiohead is coming up big and may soon take the title of “most popular” away from Modest Mouse. A search for (9)“radiohead lyrics pablo honey” brought 18 people to CricketSoda. Down the long list of keywords, Radiohead pops up all the time, and attracted at least 60 visitors to CricketSoda this month.

Brad Nowell is a god in the land of CricketSoda. Even though we really haven’t published much content about him, he still brings a lot of traffic our way. A search for (10)“brad nowell” brought 15 people to our site. All hail Brad Nowell, this is a sign we need to make a shrine to honor him.

The top ten this month shows a strong influence the music section has over the community. The keywords that really stick out though are the ones you would think would bring people to CricketSoda. These are the real treasures that make looking at this long list of 525 different keyword phrases work the effort.

If your name is on the Internet somewhere, it will come up in the search engines, and most people just can’t help but search for themselves. Or maybe perhaps, they actually have fans wanting to know more about them! Keywords Levi Blackman, Jennifer Haney, Michelle Mashburn, Lana Waldrep, Janice Joplin, Steven Rosen and Alex Warren all brought people to CricketSoda.

Keyword (445)“inventor of pancakes” showed at least on person that Pancakes are it! (see page) You can only hope that they might cook up a batch to celebrate.

Our revamped Bored Box attracted a few entertainment-seeking individuals. Keywords such as how (321)”long can you hold your breath?” and (221)“what percentage of people eat boogers” brought people to pages that told them to cut their cat’s hair and post on the CricketSoda Forums. (see page)

The idea of (99)“giving a cop the finger” has always been a big topic on CricketSoda. Discussion of the laws (would you go to jail?) and the method of delivery (drive by, flip and run). The search for this keyterm brought you to our video of two guys giving the cop a finger and then getting the shit beat out of them. (see page)

CricketSoda always has been (121)“straight thuggin boo” and has always said (144)“fuck diabetes.” Maybe the month of December will bring a whole new light to the world of CricketSoda. Until then, happy searching.
