For the longest time every night while driving out to the bar or to meet up with friends we would blare “Sound of Silver,” LCD’s latest album, as loud as Kate would let us turn up the radio in her car. We welcomed the new fresh sound from a band we haven’t explored as much as the others. Their lyrics moved us, and set the perfect mood for the night.
After the night is done, and we wanted to wind down, they also gave us amazing videos. They didn’t cheese it up like many of our favorite bands do. They showed their creativity, and gave us something real to relate to. Even though some of the videos leave you feeling uncomfortable, they are all visually amazing and worth a watch.
Their most recent video for their song “Someone Great,” is a prime example of great music meeting great video.
Someone Great
This is one of my favorite LCD Soundsystem songs. I first heard it on Pitchfork and it is really what got me listening to them again.
All My Friends
This video is very strange, and didn’t quit go well with many LCD fans. It features a very strange looking lead singer James Murphy singing very lifelessly. He looks older, and depressed. It doesn’t really offer you any closing and just like the song, the video leaves you thinking about your life.
Tribulations
This is one of their best videos, and my personal favorite. Not only is there a lot of cool things to look at as he travels what seems like every place possible, but it is upbeat fast moving joy ride, which is what I am kind of into.
Movement
I guess all bands need a pretty colors video.
Daft Punk Is Playing at My House
From what I get from the video it must have been an amazing Halloween party. Not all parties are great enough to write a song about. While the song might not be the best in the world, the video provides a good trippy experience for anyone looking for that kind of thing.
They have other videos, mostly live shows, but some goodies if you dig the band. Check them out at http://www.lcdsoundsystem.com/
